Ivana’s artistic journey started with sculpture at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade.
Quickly expanding into other media, she’s recently started exploring a new relation to our bodies and individuality via tattooing.
Experimenting with light by observing flora’s shadows and reflections, Ivana started an exploration of latent forms and abstract images.
These forms resonate with collective archetypes and communicate with us in a language of mental images and dreams.
This style would be best described as botanical glitch.
Organic and abstract shapes extracted from shadows allow the viewer to decipher images.
By re-interprating elements she picks from prehistoric cave paintings across cultures, Ivana also likes to create symbols that simply feel native.
The process of placement plays a crucial role to her designs and she masters composition by carefully following the shape of a body, glorifying its natural beauty.
